FAQs
Why choose a Little Fae playmat?

We understand how difficult it can be to find the perfect product for you and your little one. That’s why every Little Fae playmat has been thoughtfully designed to suit both your family and your home.
Our stylish designs complement your interiors so beautifully that you might mistake them for a rug. Each playmat is practical, multifunctional and effortless to use — simply roll it out when needed and roll it away when you’re done. Lightweight and easy to carry, they’re ideal for travelling or moving between rooms.
With reversible designs, you get two beautiful looks in one. We believe you should never have to compromise.
Made from premium polyurethane foam, our playmats are softer and safer than PVC alternatives and completely non-toxic — perfect for use on hard flooring. The textured surface provides extra grip to support your little one as they learn to sit, crawl and stand, offering excellent skid and abrasion resistance.
Spills, crumbs or muddy paws? No problem. Our playmats are waterproof and wipe clean within seconds. They’re also great for yoga or gentle workouts when you get a moment to yourself.
Every Little Fae playmat has been independently tested to meet all relevant health and safety standards, so you can feel confident in your choice.
If you’d like to know more, please feel free to get in touch at info@littlefae.co.uk — we’d love to help.
Are Little Fae playmats tested?
Our playmats comply with the European Toy Safety Standards EN71-1, EN71-2 and EN71-3, and proudly carry both the CE and UKCA marks — recognised certifications that demonstrate compliance with strict European and British toy safety regulations.
We’re proud to offer playmats that are not only beautiful and practical, but thoroughly tested for your peace of mind.

How do I look after my Little Fae playmat?
What materials are used in your playmats and are they safe?
Your baby’s safety comes first, and we take this very seriously at Little Fae. With this in mind, we set out to create a high-quality playmat made from non-toxic, eco-friendly materials.
Unlike EVA, EPE or PVC, the PU (polyurethane) foam used in our playmats is softer, safer and more durable — providing a cushioned surface that’s gentle on little hands and knees.
Our playmats are also easy to wipe clean, so your little one can play freely without you worrying about mess.
We’re proud to say that every Little Fae playmat holds both the CE (European Toy Standard) and UKCA (British Toy Standard) marks, demonstrating full compliance with rigorous safety testing.
How do I reduce creasing/curling?
We recommend unrolling your playmat in the reverse direction to how it was originally rolled. This helps it to flatten more quickly. You may also wish to gently press down with your hands or feet or tightly roll it in the opposite direction to encourage it to settle.
The foam used in our playmats is the same material found in memory foam, meaning it can take a little time to adjust to its new shape. Curling is normal after being stored rolled up.
If your playmat still shows some curling, tightly roll it with the curled side facing outward, secure it with the Velcro straps, and leave it for 24–48 hours. Once unrolled, it should lie flat again.
Please note that one side may appear flatter than the other if your playmat has been stored rolled up for an extended period.
Air bubble around the edges?
Some playmats may have small air bubbles near the edges as a result of the manufacturing process. This occurs when the edges are pressed and is completely normal — it does not affect the safety, durability or performance of your playmat.
All Little Fae playmats are independently tested to the highest safety standards, so you can use them with complete confidence.
My playmat is slightly discoloured, is this normal?
Yes, this is completely normal. Our playmats are made from non-toxic materials and are free from chemical stabilisers, plasticisers and bleach. As a result, some discolouration or fading may occur over time — particularly around the edges or on lighter-coloured playmats.
To help minimise this, we recommend rolling your playmat up when not in use and avoiding direct sunlight.
The rate of discolouration will depend on how your playmat is used and cared for — for example, if it’s left out most of the time, this natural process may happen a little sooner.
Is it okay for my pet to be on my playmat?
Yes, your pets can enjoy the playmat too — just take care with claws and teeth to avoid any scratches or tears.
Our playmats are durable and easy to wipe clean, so muddy paws or the occasional mess are nothing to worry about.
Do you accept returns?
We want you to be completely happy with your playmat. If for any reason you’re not, we do accept returns — excluding outlet or faulty items sold as such, and custom-made playmats, which are non-refundable.
If you paid a delivery charge (for example, orders under £100), this £12.95 fee is non-refundable and will be deducted from your refund.
It is your responsibility to return the playmat in its original condition and include all original packaging, otherwise we will be unable to accept the return. Please also ensure the box is not written on — attach your return label instead so the packaging can be reused.
Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer. We recommend using a tracked and fully insured service, as we cannot be held responsible for items lost in transit.
If your order included a complimentary gift, it must be returned unopened and with tags attached. If you choose to keep it or it isn’t returned, the value will be deducted from your refund.
If you believe your playmat has a fault, please notify us within 48 hours of delivery.
Returns are accepted within 14 days of receiving your order, excluding sale or outlet items. For full details, please refer to our Returns Policy page.
